OwnAutoCare is now on Android: your car's service history, on any phone
OwnAutoCare is now available for Android on Google Play. If you’ve been meaning to start keeping track of your car’s maintenance and you’re on Android, there’s no longer any reason to wait.
But let’s start from the beginning, in case this is the first time you’ve come across OwnAutoCare.
What OwnAutoCare does
OwnAutoCare is a vehicle maintenance tracker. Every time you visit a garage, change the oil, replace the tyres or check the brakes, you log it: the date, the mileage, what was done, what it cost. If you have an invoice, you attach it directly.
Over time, you build a service history that gives you a clear picture of everything that’s been done on the car, when the next service is due, and how much you’ve spent on maintenance. The kind of record that’s always in your pocket — and that your mechanic always asks about.
The app also sends you reminders when a service is coming up. No need to keep track of it yourself.
What makes it different: your data is yours
Here’s the detail that matters: OwnAutoCare has no servers of its own. All your data is saved directly to your Google Drive. The app acts as the interface, but your information never passes through any external system.
That means there’s no OwnAutoCare database that can be breached, because that database doesn’t exist. There’s nothing to hack on the app’s side. Your car’s service history lives in your Google account — infrastructure you already trust, with automatic backups and access from any device.
For Android users, this fits naturally: Google Drive is already where you keep everything else. Your car data goes to exactly the same place.
What you can do with it today
If you’ve just downloaded OwnAutoCare on your Android phone, here’s where to start:
Log your first service. You don’t need to reconstruct the car’s entire history from day one. Start with the next maintenance you do — note the date, the mileage and what was done, and your history builds itself from there.
Store your garage invoices. Take a photo of the invoice and attach it to the relevant entry. No more paper receipts stuffed in a glove box.
Set up reminders. Tell the app when the next oil change or brake check is due, and it’ll alert you before the date arrives.
Manage multiple vehicles. If there’s more than one car in the household, you can keep a full service history for each one from the same app.
Where to download it
OwnAutoCare is free and available on both platforms right now:
- Download on Google Play — for Android
- Download on the App Store — for iPhone, iPad and Mac
If you were already using it on iOS and have an Android device at home — or the other way round — you can now have it on all your devices. Your data is in Google Drive, so it’s accessible wherever you need it.
